Itinerary

When you arrive at the Aswan airport , our agent will meet you and offer assistance.

After that, a private coach will take you to the MS Royal Lotus Nile cruise. Actually, the boat is going to leave before midday. Lunch will be served to you on the cruise ship after that.

The afternoon is when the time will be free. Then, aboard a typical Nile boat, we'll do Nile river trips across Egypt. It will actually cruise close to Elephantine Island's shore. For afternoon tea and coffee, you'll then head back to the cruise ship. Dinner and the night will actually be spent on the cruise ship.

Optional Tour: There will be a trip to the temples of Abu Simbel. The trip is going to take place by private coach.

The distance between Aswan to the Abu Simbel temples is about 300 kilometers southwest. The complex is, in fact, a World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO. The "Nubian landmarks" that run downstream from the complex to Philae are known as the "Nubian monuments". It is true that the twin temples were hewn out of the cliff. This occurred during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the thirteenth century BC. Just as impressive are the temples erected in commemoration of his alleged victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The complex was moved in 1968. It currently sits atop a man-made hill. In addition, the structure is located above the Aswan High Dam.

Breakfast will also be served on the Royal Lotus Nile cruise ship. We'll go to the Aswan High Dam today.

As a matter of fact, the dam has eighteen times the quantity of material that went into building the Great Pyramid of Giza. In addition, the dam spans 11,811 feet. In addition, its base is 3215 feet thick and 363 feet tall. We'll visit the Unfinished Obelisk after that.

The red granite used to build the obelisk is the same material used to build colossi and ancient temples. Actually, Aswan quarries provided the granite. The approximate weight of the obelisk is 2.3 million pounds.

Next, we'll head to Philae's temple. The temple truly surfaced from the Nile River's depths.

Before going to Kom Ombo, we'll have lunch back on board the MS Royal Lotus Nile cruise. After arriving, we'll see the Ptolemaic temple of Haroeries and Sobek. Then it's back to the Nile cruise for us. Enjoy the sun deck while you take in the charming villages along the river. Actually, the early evening on the cruise ship was when the tea and coffee were served. As the cruise ship sails toward Edfu, we'll enjoy a delectable oriental supper. It is actually a night of dancing in addition to the supper. A celebration of Egyptian folklore will also take place over dinner. You will spend the night on the cruise ship as well.

Breakfast will be served today on the MS Royal Lotus Nile cruise ship.

This morning, we're going to the magnificently maintained Edfu temple. Actually, Horus Temple is another name for the Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Furthermore, the temple was built in 237 BC, under the six Ptolemaic dynasties' rule. In addition, the temple is the greatest preserved example of an ancient Egyptian temple. Moreover, the temple is, after Karnak, the second largest in Egypt. Blocks of sandstone were used exclusively in the construction of Horus' temple. An earlier, smaller temple served as the foundation for the enormous Ptolemaic temple. Actually, the Nile River was to the east and west of Horus' temple.

The next temple structure faces north and south. On the east side of the first courtyard are the remnants of an old temple pylon. Actually, not a lot of information exists regarding the first Horus temple. An inscription states that Seti I, Ramses II, and III, the monarchs of the New Kingdom, oversaw the construction. After that, we'll head back to the cruise ship for a deck lunch. We will sail to Luxor on that day. Early evening tea and coffee will be served on the cruise ship. On board the cruise ship will be dinner and bedtime.

On the cruise, breakfast will be served.

After that, we'll get off the boat. To see the Colossi of Memnon, we will traverse the Nile to the west bank today. Two enormous stone monuments represent Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Moreover, they date back to 1350 BC, which means that they have been interred in the Theban necropolis for 3400 years.

It was located across the Nile River from Luxor, which is now Egypt's capital. Our next destination is the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. We're heading to the Hatshepsut Temple in Queens Valley.

This funerary temple is dedicated to the solar god Amon-Ra. Actually, you're going to have to pay for your own lunch at a nearby restaurant today. Next, we'll see the Luxor Temple. As it happens, circa 1400 BC, sandstone blocks from an Aswan area were used to build the temple. The place is actually in the southwest of Egypt.
We'll proceed to the Karnak Temple after that. The temple is home to a varied assortment of dilapidated chapels, pylons, temples, and other buildings. In addition, the Middle Kingdom's Sesostris I was the monarch when the complex's development got underway. You'll then be driven to the Luxor airport so you can board your flight.
